Butler's Choice represents a passion for quality expressed through commitment, innovation, and experience. Our focus is on seafood specializing in shell and softshell fish - produced responsibly and bred sustainably.

Most products are ASC and MSC certificates, and all products are checked and controlled by our employees in each country, to ensure high quality and specification as agreed with the customer.

Butler's Choice was founded in 1997 by Jacob Stokkebye. Jacob has undertaken a formal British butler education and worked more than 10 years of experience working as a manager, chef, and sommelier in Michelin restaurants in France and Denmark. He has twenty five years of experience and knowledge within the seafood business and introduced sustainable warm water shrimps in Scandinavia.

Butlers Choice is based in Nyborg, Denmark with representative offices in India and Vietnam.

HIGH STANDARD

Butler’s Choice is certified to deal with MSC (Marine Stewardship Council) and ASC (Aquaculture Stewardship Council) certified products.

The ASC certification guarantees the quality of working conditions, fish feed, animal welfare, and the environment.

MSC products are produced by fisheries that fish only healthy and well-managed stocks to secure stocks for the long-term and to minimize their impact on other species and the wider ecosystem.

Signatory to the UN Global Compact – the largest corporate responsibility initiative in the world.

SUSTAINABILITY

For Butler's Choice, a socially responsible and environmentally friendly product is an absolute prerequisite for a quality product. And it has been our basic philosophy from the start.

We have invested 1.35 mill euros to improve labor conditions for farmers and their children and the environment. Half of the amount is received from Danida. (Danish International Development Assistance).

QUALITY CONTROL

Butler’s Choice established our QC controllers from farm to factory as well as within the factory.

Full traceability from water to the table, all carton is marked with handwritten T-code.

We cooperate only with high-quality factories, and the collaborations go more than 10 years back.
We sort out up to 20% per 20 tons of shrimps, due to soft shells, bad smell black spot ex.
